Shelving & Racking Ltd would like to wish all of our customers and suppliers a very Merry  Christmas and a happy, successful 2022.

We’re happy to have got through another challenging year unscathed, with used pallet racking once again proving to be our most successful range of products. Sales of Dexion, Apex, Link 51, Redirack and PSS have been strong and the stock in our warehouse suggests that we are well set up for the New Year.

Our longspan shelving range continues to be very popular and is a strong versatile system, suitable for all environments where a heavy duty shelving system is required.

We have seen fantastic growth in the sales of warehouse steps, access platforms and truck docks, which are suitable for almost any picking area, hand loaded storage or loading environment.

2021 has seen us install warehouse racking systems right across the UK. Heavy duty shelving units are always a big seller for us, due to the strength and versatility of our range of longspan shelving. Whether you need a couple of bays for small parts storage, a few runs of hand loaded shelving for archive storage or a large picking area for your warehouse we can find the best solution which will maximise the space you have available.

Upright frames start at 2000mm high, but can be supplied as high as 5000mm, for which we can also supply warehouse safety steps. The depth of this shelving system ranges from 400mm to 1200mm and this means we can provide storage which best suits the size of the product or box, or which can be loaded from both sides. There are eight different beam sizes for our longspan shelving (950mm -2700mm), so we can work out the best possible configuration to fit the space you have allocated. Each shelving level can take  from 430kg – 1075kg (depending on the beam length) as a uniformly distributed load and the load capacity of each bay can be up to 7500kg.

Each shelving level is supplied with a chipboard deck, with the correct number of support bars to achieve the stated load capacity. If you would prefer a steel shelf we also have these in stock for 600mm, 800mm 900mm and 1200mm deep bays. This type of longspan shelving can also be supplied without a shelf for use as tyre racking.

The upright frames are supplied assembled, with footplates attached and including levelling plates and fixing bolts. All beams are supplied with two beam locks as standard.

Heavy duty industrial shelving is a great way to store boxes or loose items of stock without the need for wide aisles to accommodate forklifts or reach trucks. If you are creating a picking area or you have heavy items that aren’t palletised then we can find a great solution to suit your requirements.

Our longspan shelving is a highly versatile and very strong system that is suitable for almost any storage environment. Longspan is like a scaled down version of pallet racking, with the same upright frames and horizontal beams. However, the beams have a Z profile (unlike the box section of pallet racking beams) so that a chipboard deck sits securely between them, with support bars to add strength and rigidity. If you need a metal shelf, we can supply dropover steel panels, ideal for food storage areas or where regular cleaning is required.

The upright frames are available in depths of 400mm to 1200mm and in heights up to 5 metres. They are always supplied assembled, with footplates attached and including levelling plates and fixing bolts. Beam sizes range from 950mm to 2700mm, with load capacities in excess of 400kg UDL per level for all sizes. All of this means that whatever hand loaded items you need to store, we can find a configuration that will work for your storage area.
