If you are looking to buy a warehouse racking system, you would start by working out how many upright frames and horizontal beams you need, and what size they need to be. But once you have a layout planned, you can broaden your search to other components that will ensure that your industrial racking is safe, secure and fit for purpose.

All of our pallet racking beams are supplied with 2 beam locks as standard, because they are important in helping to prevent the beams from being accidentally dislodged by your forklift. If you have beams without locking pins, we can supply as many as you need for all leading manufacturers.

Forklift trucks can also cause expensive and potentially dangerous damage to your racking uprights, so it is important to protect them. Column guards and rack end barriers are a relatively inexpensive way to avoid damage and are easy to install. All of our barriers and guards are supplied with fixing bolts.

If your pallets need extra support, or you want to use your warehouse racking system for hand loaded storage, we have large stocks of timber and wire mesh decking in stock to suit standard pallet racking sizes. Pallet support bars can also be used to help prevent your pallets from sagging.

Second hand industrial racking is what we do best and we have huge stocks available in a wide range of sizes and duties. We always have large quantities of Dexion, Link 51, Apex and PSS  warehouse racking in stock and we usually have, or can source, most other racking systems. Current racking manufacturers in stock include Hilo, Storax and AR.

Frame sizes range from 2000mm to 9000mm and beyond. Standard depths are 900mm and 1100mm, but we can adjust the bracing to create almost any required depth. All of our pallet racking frames are supplied assembled and with footplates attached.

We have used pallet racking beams in stock from 950mm up to 4000mm and with load capacities from 1 to 3 tonnes UDL. All beams are supplied with beam locks.

We have orders leaving us every day, for delivery to all parts of the the UK mainland. We use contract haulage for most of our pallet racking deliveries,  small orders are sent by courier. Of course, if you would prefer we would be happy for you to arrange collection from our warehouse.

The simple answer to “who buys used pallet racking?” is “we do!”, so if you have a medium to large quantity of warehouse racking in good condition then we are waiting for your call. We are always interested in good quality industrial racking from leading manufacturers such as Dexion, Link 51, Apex, Redirack, PSS or Mecalux but we will consider all offers if the quantity and condition is right.

The first thing we will always ask is how many upright frames and horizontal beams do you have, and what sizes are they. If you can also send us some clear close up photos of the racking, so that we can see the condition and, if necessary, identify the manufacturer we should then be able to give you an indication of the value of your used racking. If you are working to a deadline, let us know when that is and we will do all we can to work within the timescale you give us. Finally, we would want to know if you need us to dismantle the warehouse storage equipment and arrange transport or will you deliver it to us.

Which warehouse racking beams should I use?

There are a huge range of warehouse racking beams available and finding the appropriate materials for your specific requirements isn’t always straightforward. Our team are always happy to offer you as much help and advice as you need, but here is some guidance which might help you find what you need.

Firstly, there are at least 20 different manufacturers of pallet racking and almost none of their components are compatible with each other. So, if you don’t know whether you have Dexion, Link 51, Apex, Redirack or any other make, the first place to look would be our “identify my racking” page, where you can find photos of many leading brands of industrial racking. If this doesn’t help, send us some clear close up photos of your racking and we can usually tell you what you have.

The measurement we use to describe pallet racking beams is the clear entry- the space between the upright frames when beams are in place.

2700mm is the most common pallet racking beam size, as this can be used to store UK pallets (2 pallets per level with 900mm deep frames) and euro pallets (3 pallets per level with 1100mm deep frames). There are many other standard sizes which are close to 2700mm and which may work for your warehouse storage, depending on the pallets you are using. 2625mm, 2650mm, 2667mm, 2670mm, 2743mm, 2750mm and 2800mm are all regularly seen on the used market.

2250mm racking beams are generally used to store 2 UK pallets on 1100mm deep frames and 2225mm, 2286mm, 2300mm beams are also often available. We also usually have single pallet beams (1350mm, 1372mm or 1425mm) and longer beams which can be anything from 2900mm to 4000mm in length.

The load capacity of pallet racking beams can vary from a few hundred kilos to 3 tonnes (and sometimes beyond) per pair. We will always supply used warehouse racking beams whose capacity is at least the maximum requested load capacity.

Heavy duty industrial shelving is a great way to store boxes or loose items of stock without the need for wide aisles to accommodate forklifts or reach trucks. If you are creating a picking area or you have heavy items that aren’t palletised then we can find a great solution to suit your requirements.

Our longspan shelving is a highly versatile and very strong system that is suitable for almost any storage environment. Longspan is like a scaled down version of pallet racking, with the same upright frames and horizontal beams. However, the beams have a Z profile (unlike the box section of pallet racking beams) so that a chipboard deck sits securely between them, with support bars to add strength and rigidity. If you need a metal shelf, we can supply dropover steel panels, ideal for food storage areas or where regular cleaning is required.

The upright frames are available in depths of 400mm to 1200mm and in heights up to 5 metres. They are always supplied assembled, with footplates attached and including levelling plates and fixing bolts. Beam sizes range from 950mm to 2700mm, with load capacities in excess of 400kg UDL per level for all sizes. All of this means that whatever hand loaded items you need to store, we can find a configuration that will work for your storage area.

How do I sell pallet racking?

If you are looking to sell pallet racking that you no longer need or use then we are waiting to hear from you. We are always looking for medium to large quantities of good quality warehouse racking or longspan shelving and will pay great prices for it.

Before you contact us, please try to have as much information about the racking as you can. This should include the height depth and quantity of upright frames (and the duty if known), the length, load capacity and quantity of horizontal frames and the manufacturer of your racking (eg. Dexion, Link 51, Apex, Redirack, Mecalux etc) . We would also like a few clear photos of the racking that will show us its condition and so we can identify the make if you aren’t sure of it.

If your industrial racking is of interest to us, we will make you an offer quickly and can work around your time restraints when it comes to arranging dismantling and transportation. If you aren’t able to take down the racking yourself, we can deduct this cost from the price we would pay. Our SEIRS qualified installation teams can drop the racking quickly and make sure that it is stacked and banded correctly, ready for loading onto a vehicle.

Lastly, we can arrange for our haulage supplier to collect your racking and deliver it to our warehouse if required.
