Our mobile safety steps are available in sizes from office storeroom steps to extra wide warehouse safety steps. The whole range is ergonomically designed, strong, easy to manoeuvre and safe to use. The safety steps have a large working platform and a safe working load of 300kg. They come with 2 handrails as standard and can be adapted to your specific requirements. Narrow aisle steps

The narrow aisle option is just 590mm wide for the 2-4 tread options. (630mm for the 5-8 tread) If space is tight these might be the solution that you are looking for.

Extra wide steps

If you need more space for picking bulky items or carrying toolboxes then the extra wide steps may be what you are looking for. The treads and platform on this model are 700mm wide.

Heavy duty steps

If you are carrying very heavy items, the heavy duty mobile safety steps have the same wide platform as the extra wide steps but also have a safe working load of 500kg.

Storage of warehouse steps can be an issue. Our knock down safety steps are a great option. Once located on your premises, these steps can be erected and taken down in minutes. Once assembled, they have the same specifications as our standard warehouse safety steps.

Access platforms

Our heavy duty access platforms are suitable for all types of loading or unloading.  They have an extra long platform and full side access. These platforms will handle a safe working load (SWL) of 500kg and are available with a platform height between 500mm and 2000mm and strengthened 700mm x 200mm treads and chain gates as standard.

Truck docks

Heavy duty truck dock platforms are designed to easily load and unload vehicles.  The angle of the steps is 45 degrees to ensure the user can safely descend the platform facing forwards.  The platform area is large and has three chained exits for quick release for loading/unloading.  It has a sturdy box section base and strengthened axle giving it a safe working load (SWL) of 500kg!

Modifications

Hinged or chained gates can be added to your steps and the platform length can be extended, so whatever your bespoke requirements are, we can find the right step for your business.  All steps and platforms are available in a range of standard colours or a RAL colour of your choice to match your corporate identity! Warehouse racking protection is a vital part of any industrial storage system. Damage to your pallet racking can be both dangerous and costly, but with some simple measures in place you can prevent many of these accidents from happening.

Column guards are a relatively cheap way to prevent forklift damage to your pallet racking uprights. Ours are bolted to the floor in front of each leg, creating a “crumple zone” in front of the racking. We have large quantities in stock and and they are ready for dispatch in just 2-3 days.

Rack end barriers perform a similar job at the ends of your runs of industrial racking and are available in sizes to suit standard single and back to back runs. All our guards and barriers are supplied with fixing bolts to secure them to a concrete floor.

If any of your warehouse racking backs on to pedestrian areas then anti-collapse mesh should be in place to prevent items falling from the racking and causing injuries. We can supply mesh which can be fixed to pallet racking from all leading manufacturers (Dexion, Link 51, Redirack, Apex, PSS, Polypal, Mecalux etc), usually in 7-10 working days.

Heavy duty shelving units are always a big seller for us, due to the strength and versatility of our range of longspan shelving. Whether you need a couple of bays for small parts storage, a few runs of hand loaded shelving for archive storage or a large picking area for your warehouse we can find the best solution which will maximise the space you have available.

Upright frames start at 2000mm high, but can be supplied as high as 5000mm, for which we can also supply warehouse safety steps. The depth of this shelving system ranges from 400mm to 1200mm and this means we can provide storage which best suits the size of the product or box, or which can be loaded from both sides. There are eight different beam sizes for our longspan shelving (950mm -2700mm), so we can work out the best possible configuration to fit the space you have allocated. Each shelving level can take  from 430kg – 1075kg (depending on the beam length) as a uniformly distributed load and the load capacity of each bay can be up to 7500kg.

Each shelving level is supplied with a chipboard deck, with the correct number of support bars to achieve the stated load capacity. If you would prefer a steel shelf we also have these in stock for 600mm, 800mm 900mm and 1200mm deep bays. This type of longspan shelving can also be supplied without a shelf for use as tyre racking.

The upright frames are supplied assembled, with footplates attached and including levelling plates and fixing bolts. All beams are supplied with two beam locks as standard.

What is a pallet racking bay?

A pallet racking bay is two upright frames joined together with pairs of horizontal beams to create levels on which pallets can be stored. You should always have runs of at least two bays joined together, with at least two beam levels in each bay, for stability and for the manufacturer’s stated load capacities to be valid.

Upright frames are made up of two legs braced together and with footplates attached. Standard depths are 900mm and 1100mm and they can be any height from two metres to fifteen metres (and beyond). Horizontal beams start from 950mm long and are available in a wide variety of sizes, sometimes over 4000mm in length. 2700mm is the most common warehouse racking beam length, but 1350mm, 2250mm and 3300mm are also widely used. The load capacity of the beams ranges from a few hundred kilos to at least three tonnes for a uniformly distributed load (UDL).

Which warehouse racking beams should I use?

There are a huge range of warehouse racking beams available and finding the appropriate materials for your specific requirements isn’t always straightforward. Our team are always happy to offer you as much help and advice as you need, but here is some guidance which might help you find what you need.

Firstly, there are at least 20 different manufacturers of pallet racking and almost none of their components are compatible with each other. So, if you don’t know whether you have Dexion, Link 51, Apex, Redirack or any other make, the first place to look would be our “identify my racking” page, where you can find photos of many leading brands of industrial racking. If this doesn’t help, send us some clear close up photos of your racking and we can usually tell you what you have.

The measurement we use to describe pallet racking beams is the clear entry- the space between the upright frames when beams are in place.

2700mm is the most common pallet racking beam size, as this can be used to store UK pallets (2 pallets per level with 900mm deep frames) and euro pallets (3 pallets per level with 1100mm deep frames). There are many other standard sizes which are close to 2700mm and which may work for your warehouse storage, depending on the pallets you are using. 2625mm, 2650mm, 2667mm, 2670mm, 2743mm, 2750mm and 2800mm are all regularly seen on the used market.

2250mm racking beams are generally used to store 2 UK pallets on 1100mm deep frames and 2225mm, 2286mm, 2300mm beams are also often available. We also usually have single pallet beams (1350mm, 1372mm or 1425mm) and longer beams which can be anything from 2900mm to 4000mm in length.

The load capacity of pallet racking beams can vary from a few hundred kilos to 3 tonnes (and sometimes beyond) per pair. We will always supply used warehouse racking beams whose capacity is at least the maximum requested load capacity.
